Paul Cezanne

Paul Cezanne

Through his desire to make «Poussin sur nature», he appears as a continuator of the French classical spirit as much as a radical innovator by the use of geometry

in portraits, still lifes and the many landscapes he paints, Île-de-France and Provence, especially the countryside of Aix-en-Provence. In particular, he created a

series of paintings with the Sainte-Victoire mountain motif. He is considered the «father of modern art».
